Wedding Week: The Caterer

Porcupine-5 One of the most important elements of planning a good wedding is hiring the right caterer. So much of the evening is based around the food and drink service that it is important to make sure you have an experienced crew…and of course delicious food for your guests!

Wedding Week: The Ring and The Registry

Recognized as one of the Southeast’s leading jewelers, Elizabeth Bruns is THE place to go for fine jewelry and gifts. Charlotte native Wilson Glasgow has owned the store since 1976 and goes to great lengths to ensure impeccable quality and customer service are provided at this beautiful shop.

ElizabethBruns_Charlotte2013_ofa15 Elizabeth Bruns offers a well-edited selection of the finest jewelry and gems available and offers customization on any piece imaginable. Hence, this is the go-to in Charlotte for brides and grooms to select special rings for their big day.

EB Ring Quality, Quality, Quality

Exquisite jewelry is not the only attraction at Elizabeth Bruns. They are also the best source for fine china, porcelain, sterling flatware, and crystal showcasing the world’s most respected names. Along with the fine china and gifts, Elizabeth Bruns offers the largest selection of antique silver holloware. Here you will find exceptional work from some of the world’s most outstanding silver craftsmen.

Elizabeth Bruns offers the best bridal registry service in town. Whereas most old, Southern registry shops are dated and have no contemporary elements, Elizabeth Bruns incorporates the latest finds from travels to gift shows and beyond to include beautiful, ‘with it’ accessories that help new brides (and shoppers) imagine their traditional china, crystal and silver in a contemporary setting.

If you are attending a wedding this summer, shop at Elizabeth Bruns…you will surely find a memorable gift for the couple…and you will most likely find something to add to your own wish list at the same time!

Wedding Week: The Invitation and The Dress

Wedding season is here and what better a way to start of my Wedding Week feature than by mentioning two elements crucial to the big day: The Invitation and The Dress. Arzberger Stationers and Hayden Olivia Bridal are two destination spots for brides in and out-of-town. I wanted to pair these two businesses together, because it’s important to think about how crucial the invitation and dress are for setting the tone for the event.

Florentine Isn’t this Florentine liner gorgeous and doesn’t this dress and photo look like it could be taken right in an Tuscan villa?

Since 1922, Azberger Stationers has produced finely crafted wedding, personal and social stationery for customers throughout the United States.  From design to shipping, everything necessary to produce your stationery is done at their facility in Charlotte. The talented team at Arzberger can help you create the most beautiful, engraved wedding invitation and can help you think outside of the box and incorporate various fonts, motifs, colors and liners to really customize your look. The possibilities are endless in terms of what you can create with Arzberger, and one thing is certain, the quality of each piece will stand apart from any other stationer in town…AND in the country. Look through your stack of saved wedding invitations (we all have them!)….surely the ones produced by Arzberger will stand out amongst the rest.

Arz Detail

Hayden Olivia Bridal is another destination here in Charlotte, one that I stumbled upon while delivering Scout Guides last year. In the heart of uptown, brides are finding “the one” in a handpicked selection of modern gowns fashioned in this chic bridal boutique (one of coolest buildings in town, hands down). Hayden Olivia Bridal carries couture bridal gowns, veils, hair pieces, fabulous shoes and “must have” accessories. It is certainly all about the details at Hayden Olivia. Featuring over 125 styles by the world’s most important designers, Hayden Olivia brings New York’s finest to Charlotte.

Wedding Week

HJ Wedding It’s that time of year…weddings booked every weekend…at the beach, in town…wherever they might be, it’s so much fun to participate in them and take in all of the well thought out details, see old friends and celebrate a happy couple. Whether you are married are not, it’s always nice to either think back on your own wedding or dream about your future wedding. I certainly had ideas of how I wanted our wedding day to be YEARS before I had a ring on my finger!

HJ Wedding Flowers Although we planned our wedding from Virginia four years ago, if my husband and I were living in Charlotte while engaged, we would certainly not need to leave town to buy a dress, order an invitation or book a location. Charlotte offers a multitude of destination-spots for brides.  Next week, I would like to highlight some of the best! Even if you’re not planning a wedding for yourself or a family member, our local businesses in Charlotte are nice to keep in mind for any special event on the horizon.

Wedding Flowers 2

I’ll be posting every day next week, revealing some of Charlotte’s best resources for planning a special event. Please remember that it’s all about supporting local businesses!
